Art It is the brainchild of artist DiDi Dobree-Wilson and is a walk-in art studio for all ages. Art It emphasises visual art as entertainment and as such offers families, adults and children the drop-In service where literally you don’t have to book, just walk in off the road and have fun creating, painting, decorating, glittering, gemming, feathering, buttoning and anything else that turns your creation into your personalized masterpiece.
Your unique artwork, to name a few, can be anything from jewellery boxes, money banks, animals, nameplates, frames, notebooks, pencil containers, T-shirts, tote bags, pottery, glassware, canvases, sneakers, masks and so forth.
Art It also offers each the possibility to celebrate their special day with a birthday party, hen party, corporate event, team bonding moment, a girl’s day out, school and scout excursions, age friendly gatherings and summer camps.
Art It offers art classes to children from age 5 through their teens, adults to senior citizens wanting to get in touch with their inner child and find their creativity.
We are now online and global. You can now book online painting parties and art classes for all ages. We can even work around time zone differences!
Whether for adults or for children, parties at Art it are always great craic! Throw a paint filled balloon, decorate a unicorn, draw a live model, and much more!
DiDi, who has made her home in Kilkenny since 1999, is born in New York of Irish parents. At a young age, she left the exciting pace of the Big Apple in the company of her journalist father and mother, to go to the mysterious city of Athens. There she experienced her first smells of an artistic and creative studio. A few years later, always in pursuit of her parents, she moved to the majestic city of Rome, which is the real beginning of DiDi’s artistic journey. It was here she frequented the well- known Franchetti Art Studio run by Venetian sculptor Franchetti and his Russian wife, Lidija Alexsandrovna Trenina Franchett. She later attended Le Belle Arti and studied briefly at Kingston University in London.
Since living in Ireland, DiDi has had various group and solo exhibitions and highlights to date have been, being invited to a Residency at the incredibly beautiful prehistoric Artist Retreat Cill Rialaig in Ballinskellig and presenting President Mary McAleese with her portrait. DiDi started sharing her passion for art with the young in 2001 through the “Young Artist Studio” and with all ages since 2013 with Art It.
